Wax Warmer FAQ

Q: Which is better a tealight wax warmer or electric wax warmer?

A: Choosing a tealight or electric wax warmer is personal preference. A tealight wax warmer will produce a stronger scent but for a shorter period of time as the tealight heats higher thereby burning off the fragrance oil faster. If you like the ambiance of a lit candle and stronger scent throw a tealight wax warmer may be the one for you. Electric wax warmers produces a less intense heat to the warmer, but the scent throw tends to last longer. I personally prefer the electric wax warmer to a tealight warmer simply for the convenience of switching it on/off and safety of not having an open flame, plus its serves double purpose as a night light.

Q: How do I dispose of the spent wax?

A: Wax should never be poured down your sink drain. That will cause a lot of problems in your plumbing system. Some suggest putting the in the freezer for a few minutes, then the wax pops out. I have tried it, it works, however we do not recommend this method due to the possible damage to the dish. We suggest placing a few cotton balls into the warmed wax to absorb, then place in the trash. Or, better yet save the wax soaked cotton balls for camp fire starters.

Q: Can I use Harvest Home melts in my Scentsy wax warmer?

A: Yes, however you may notice the scent is not as strong as if you were to use a tealight warmer or non-Scentsy warmer.
